My name is Mike Coffey and my wife and two daughters and I are delighted to be back in Whatcom county. I graduated from Western in 2001 with a Masters of Education and endorsements in K-12 music, Instructional Technology, and Theatre Arts. During my course of study I had the pleasure of working in the Blaine school district producing plays at both the elementary and high schools. After graduation we moved to Sumner where I taught for four years. This is my fourth year in Blaine, and I am happy to be both living and working in our community.
My main goal is to help students feel empowered as both musicians and life long learners. Your child will be learning to play instruments, dance, sing, and compose and perform on instruments. My goal is to give my students the skills and knowledge to be successful in a variety of musical settings, and the confidence to do so when encountering musical situations in their homes and community.
